The IOF suspended Russia as a member Federation on February 28th. Full details are given in this press release. In particular, Russian orienteering athletes will not be allowed to participate in IOF events even if they identify themselves as being neutral.
As an IOF event, the WMOC must follow these conditions and so the organisers have now put together the following FAQs to clarify the position for Russian athletes:
Can Russian athletes compete in World Masters Championships?
No, Russian athletes are not allowed to compete in World Masters Championships. Although athletes do not “represent” their Federation at World Masters Championships, a benefit of a Federation’s membership of the IOF is that their athletes may compete in IOF events.
